Exchange Participants
CCX Exchange Participants are businesses, organizations or individuals who purchase CCX Carbon Financial Instrument® (CFI®) contracts and retire them to offset emissions associated with special events or other specified activities.
Exchange Participants:
- Establish an account in the CCX Registry, the official record holder and transfer mechanism for CCX CFI contracts. This enables them to purchase and permanently retire CFI contracts.
- May set a GHG emission offset commitment and calculate GHG equivalent of emitting activities with the CCX emissions calculator.
- May purchase CFI contracts at any time.
- Will not receive a third-party standardized verification of emissions (for information on emissions data verification for office-based organizations, please see Associate Membership).
The membership fees and dues for Exchange Participants include an enrollment fee and annual dues for each year the Exchange Participant chooses to maintain a CCX Registry Account. Exchange Participants acquire 100-ton CFI contracts at prevailing market prices.
